We gathered a bunch of agency leaders for our first #WaypointThinks event in Edinburgh last week, for a very engaging discussion on ‘Driving Profitability’ in your business.
The second leg of the #WaypointThinks Roadshow was held on a sunny morning at the foot of Edinburgh Castle. Our Waypoint North Partner, Phil Gripton, welcomed everyone to what was set to be a very inspiring and motivating session for our agency owners and leaders, who were thrilled to be having an event like this right on their doorstep.
Discussion took place around our top tips to kickstart better profits in your business.
Miles Welch covered areas such as;
- Making profit a deliberate plan rather than a consequence of doing work.
- Looking at where you’re writing off money and what the patterns are.
- Creating processes that work for you and embedding them into your culture.
- Having a clear new business process.
Miles and Phil were able to draw various learnings and examples from clients they have worked with. They showed that, among the bigger strategic implementations, simple things such as one agency not wasting 25,000 sheets of colour printing in one month(!), can soon have a positive effect on the bottom line.
The overarching message: You’ve got to invest in growth to achieve it.
